Links to the places I love in Leeds

Leeds city museum:

This museum closed down in 1999 and I missed it due to having so many childhood memories going here. I'm pleased Leeds got their act together and found another place to host it and it has reopened in September 2008. Leeds wasn't the same without a museum and I really enjoyed going round the new one even though not the same as my childhood one. Well done Leeds bringing it back http://www.leeds.gov.uk/cityMuseum/

Kirkstall Abbey Leeds:

This Abbey is a famous landmark in Leeds and has a lovely museum close by. It's a wonderful place in Leeds to sit and watch the world go by http://www.leeds.gov.uk/kirkstallAbbey/

Golden Acre Park in Leeds:

Golden Acre Park in Leeds is set in about 137 acres with a beautiful lake and stunning mature woodland. I often take my camera with me and go for a walk here. It's a wonderful unspoilt place in Leeds to get away from it all. As you go off the main walk around the lake on one of the nature walks you can find hides to view the many birds and peace and quiet from the world. Golden Acre Park is 6 miles from the centre of Leeds at Bramhope on the A660 Otley road. This has to be my favourite park in Leeds.

Tropical World Leeds:

Tropical World in Leeds is a really nice place to walk into a different world. It has a low admission price and as you walk in one of the first parts you walk through is an area filled with butterflies. Meerkats are a new addition with an area set up for them to set up the roles they have in the wild. It's a mini zoo for Leeds with lots of small animals to see from fish, snakes, bats, parrots flying above you and plants from afar. Bits from the rest of the world here in Leeds every time I go I find something new. Also just across from it is Roundhay Park which is another great park for Leeds.

Leeds and Liverpool Canal:

I walk from the centre of Leeds sometimes along the Leeds and Liverpool canal to near to where I live. You see a different side to Leeds as you walk from the centre of Leeds out you feel yourself getting stiller and stiller. You learn so much about Leeds from all that you pass on this lovely walk and been 127 miles long will never get bored.
