THE BEGINNING

My fascination with crystals began as a young boy. I used to collect them in little boxes with clear lids through which to view them - all properly named and labelled. Whenever I could I would buy them, but at that time it was mostly on school field trips and weekends away to Whitby and seaside resorts. I remember the only place in Leeds (where I grew up) to get them was in the city museum. I couldn't wait to get into the little shop as there seemed hundreds of these little boxes filled with small pieces of treasure. I wanted to buy them all! but limited to pocket money one or two was the best I could manage. Sadly the museum has gone as do many things from our childhood. ( Since I wrote this I'm very happy that the Leeds museum has reopened in Sept 2008, so well done Leeds bringing this back.)

LETTING GO

Back then, I didn't know why I was drawn to them so much. Slowly I stopped buying them and emptied my display case, put them all in a box and forgot about them. It wasn't until I was 33 while tidying out my old room I found them all again. My mum asked did I want to keep them all still and without thinking I said "No give them away."

REBORN

Soon after I was going through a change in my life where the inner me started to come out, I passed a crystal shop in Leeds and was instantly drawn in. The shop was Global Tribe Crystals and as I walked in all I felt was awe. The whole shop was filled with cabinet after cabinet filled with the most beautiful crystals. The shop was full of love and peace. Mario and Bev were the owners and two of the loveliest people you could meet and I'm proud to say they are now very close friends. Through them I have met so many like minded and wonderful people. I feel blessed. I bought two stunning Amethyst pieces so very alike, so perfect and I found they could not be separated. Amethyst is for new beginnings and this was the start of mine.

Since then I have found a path I enjoy following, crystal courses, meditation and a new way of life. I have now become vegetarian which is a challenge in itself as I'm a chef cooking meat every day! A whole new world opened up and my love for crystals was reborn with an understanding of why I needed them. The love, support and guidance they give us is amazing. Now I can't stop buying and exploring their hidden depths as they bring out mine.

I hope you enjoy your journey as much as I am.
