HEMATITE 

Hematite crystals

In its natural form hematite is red and grey and dull in its lustre. When polished it takes on a whole new appearance like shiny metal. This is the stone of grounding. Its crystal structure is hexagonal. It can easily be obtained as it’s widely available. It’s a heavy crystal and feels very comforting in your hands. As you hold it you instantly feel comforted, your body is energized. A feeling of power surges through your body as you hold it in your hand. Care needs to taken when handling as it is easily broken if dropped due to being brittle.

Hematite’s grounding effects are very valuable in crystal healing as it brings you into the here and now. This crystal brings you back to earth quickly. Having said that, it can work its magic in a very different way. It gives its user a profound awareness of themselves. It can open up whole new worlds breaking through the walls you put up. You feel able to welcome new spiritual experiences. It is a wonderful companion when trying to break addictions. Its strength aids you, enhancing your self-esteem. If you’re a smoker, overeat or just generally overindulge in life, hematite will give you the willpower to break these habits. It’s a great aid if you find it hard to concentrate. This is the stone to give you the kick to do all those things in life you have been meaning to do.

It has a major connection to blood condition such as anaemia. It cleanses the blood helping to stimulate the absorption of iron, aiding the formation of red blood cells. It can help if you suffer from insomnia. It quietens anxiety allowing one to relax. As before being good with blood it can be used to ease cramps. After healing,

if you find yourself at ill ease, hold for a while until you feel at ease again. This is the same as meditation if you drift to far it will bring you back to earth. It is well worth taking a moment to meditate with this to open up some of your spiritual side.
