The stone to link you to the moon
Selenite
Selenite takes its name from the Greek goddess of the moon Selene. It is a monoclinic crystal. Its name says it all when you know where it came from as it’s just like the moon. Light emulates from this crystal and projects you to your higher self. As I write this it’s a full moon. She is looking down at me with her head tilted to one side like as if she is listening to me. She wants to know all my troubles to help take them away. My dreams she wants to help me make them come true. Blue light is emulating all around her she is so bright and so beautiful. As soon as I saw the moon I had to take out my selenite to put it on the windowsill to let her cleanse it. The charge from a full moon is amazing. There is something about the moon that straight away lifts me. I forget all my worries as she whisks me up and away filling me with love and life. This is what selenite does to me. As white as the moon and so very linked it takes you on a journey to your higher self, nothing can stand in your way. As each obstacle comes in life it blows it right out the way, showing you nothing but a clear path. Just like the moon on a cloudy day with the clouds hiding the moon. You know it’s there you just can’t see it. You just have to be patient and you will eventually see her, like in life all things hidden become clear.

Selenite
Tonight I just had to take a moment and take a selenite wand in my hand and gaze up at the moon. The link between them I felt would be truly special. I wasn’t disappointed. I straight away felt tingles in my hand like pins and needles but a lot gentler. As I lay down on my bed with the curtains drawn and the moon just in the middle of the window I feel at peace. The selenite in the window is all silhouetted like a city in the dark and the moons light reaches out to touch me. I am bathed in light and love and I close my eyes to be at one with the crystal and the moon.

The first thing I felt was a slight pain in my knee which gently eased and my nose began to tingle. My sense of hearing increased and my body was alive with feeling. Images were flashing through my head of all the day’s events and also from days before. It was if it was going through my mind to help me forget my troubles and help me see the future and what I wanted. It eased my stress of the day calming my emotions. My head felt glued to the headboard of my bed and my body went as light as a feather. Bright colours were awash in my head and I felt as if I was floating. My nose began to twitch more and I had to sneeze bringing me out of my trance. This is nature’s way of bringing you back to earth, telling you to walk before you can run. With each time I use this and other crystals, I find myself always getting a little further each time. You see more with each experience and you never want it to end.
The moment you hold selenite you know you’re holding something powerful. It has a lovely smooth feel to it which makes you straight away feel safe. The charge it gives you when you hold it in your hand can only be described for me is like a gentle electric shock. Imagine a massager pulsing in your hand and the feeling you would get if you held it tightly in your hand. If you work with a friend each holing a wand and hold hands it pulses like a tic toc motion. You both become like a clock as it brings you together in perfect harmony. Placed on the head is like having your head plunged into a bucket of ice, your whole head turns cold. After doing this and my head still cold I asked a friend to touch it, she said it was warm. You can feel its energies healing your mind to its core. Selenite spheres are beautiful as they look like the moon. It comes in many forms all so beautiful and special in their own way. I’m describing my favourite white selenite. Some other forms are satin spar which is translucent, fibrous and massive forms. There is the desert rose like a flower and brownish in colour. There is blue, green and even orange. Fishtail is also another form.

Selenite
I was in Whitby where there are many little crystal shops. As usual I couldn’t leave any of them without as each had a little treasure for me to take home. One had three pillars in different sizes that went so well together I couldn’t resist. As I gaze at them together I lose myself completely.
Anytime the moon is out I place them on the windowsill to cleanse. I’m careful to take them off in the morning as sun can dry them and also fade. As selenite does not like water and they are prone to drying out, rub a little oil over them to prevent this. It is also very brittle so handle with care. Don’t do what I did and carry a little wand in my pocket as when I reached in and pulled out something else, out came my little wand smashing into two. I was upset all night and weeks after I felt I had lost a friend. You can get small display lamps that light up objects, place pillars on one and it’s like a fibre optic lamp. Watch the heat from the bulb, if too hot you will burn the base of your selenite.
Selenite is a crystal I will always love and admire, its beauty and love is truly something special. I could go on and on, but I want you to find some of its secrets just for you.
Enjoy.
