MOLDAVITE

Moldavite has to be the crystal I am most drawn to. Beautiful bottle green with rough edges, ridges all over to rub your fingers as you hold onto it. This has everything you need to take you out off this world into your own special place and beyond. Moldavite is very powerful. It gives you a natural high and a huge buzz in your hand straight away. It flows through your body like the tide washing up on a beautiful beach. It is one crystal I find hard to walk away from and my wallet always twitches whenever I see a display cabinet showing this gift from the stars.

 

 

Moldavite is known as a tektite which comes from a Greek word tektos, meaning molten. Moldavite itself derives from the area in which it is found, near the Moldau River, called Vltava in Czech. Moldavite fell to earth about 15 million years ago when a giant meteorite stuck the earth sending this very special and unique stone out into the surrounding area. No one seems to be able to quite work out exactly how it was formed, but it seems to be due to the heat on impact off the meteorite changing the surrounding rocks by the way off fusion. Moldavite is linked to extraterrestrial energies in a lot off books and due to its source seems to be an automatic reaction. As I read authors notes linked to this and the way they go on about their experiences with extraterrestrial life forces I’m slightly sceptic. Please don’t get me wrong in this as I’m a great believer that other life apart from earth exists, it’s just all they stop short off saying is they have been on a UFO. What I’m trying to say is with a stone so rare; you must explore it yourself and find its magic unique to you .It may take you on a trip to the stars; it might just make you feel happy. However it makes you feel it will honestly be one of the most magical experiences you can have. Moldavite one day will become extinct as sources are used up in this only area it can be found. It will also become more and more expensive as it truly is a treasure just like you.

 

 

Moldavites are amorphous crystals. Moldavite has always being prized even by early humans. It has being used for tools, amulets and talismans. A good way to check Moldavite is genuine, is to use on glass as it is harder and will scratch it (some dealers have being known to melt green glass and sell it as Moldavite). Moldavite works well with other crystals and it is well worth experimenting. Putting four small quartz points with a piece of Moldavite in the centre greatly amplifies the energies of the Moldavite.

 

 It also looks amazing set in jewellery as this picture shows; it also feels amazing wearing it.    

  

 

One of my favourite pieces of Moldavite is a carved piece in the shape of a hawks head. When I use this piece and meditate with it everything clears from my head. Believe me that is truly something special as my brain never stops working and is always filled with many things at once. All I see is black space like nothing and at the centre the silhouette of the hawks head. This could be what they mean by taking you out of this world and into another.

 

 

Moldavite is linked to ones higher self and is very spiritual. Placed on the third eye it can shift your consciousness, awakening the spiritual side and takes you on the journey of ones true self. It deals with everything you need to develop your spiritual growth, be it past lives, the past, the future there are no boundaries to this stone. It can aid you in your future life by showing you the way, allowing you to clear the clutter to become your true self. Moldavite is great for people like me who need a helping hand dealing with this world and taking us away for a time to feel free and unchained. Sometimes the world in which we live physically is not where we want to be mentally and it takes a strong friend to pull us through the door to the other side holding our hand on the way. Moldavite has no crystalline structure so is endless and has no boundaries; the only limits are what you make them. Mentally it takes away the mundane things in life such as work, money, bills and family problems. Moldavite helps show the way and find solutions, inspiring you to reach your goals in life and believing you will succeed on your path. Physically it gives you like I said earlier a natural high. A rush of energy through the body which some people find hard to handle and don’t like, working through this with the aid of smoky quartz can ease its effects.

 

 

Each piece of Moldavite has an individual energy. Some smaller pieces are much stronger than their larger counterparts. This is true with a lot of crystals but with Moldavite the moment you hold it you feel its power. I have in my collection a carved piece in the shape of a lady (as shown above with the hawk, they go so well together). When I first got it I couldn’t work out if it was genuine or not as it felt dead. I took it to Global Tribe in Leeds and Cornerstones in Ingleton to see what they thought, and everyone was unsure. I had felt a gentle energy after a few weeks which gradually got stronger but still was not sure. As I was in Cornerstones Bev mentioned a healer who would know was due in the shop any moment. Minutes later she walked in and as soon as she held it knew it was genuine. She explained it had a gentle energy flowing through it and ever since it has being a very relaxing piece for me, both in looking at its beauty and calming nature. As I am writing now I had to go and get it to hold, a gentle tingle like a electric shock is pulsing my hand and distracting me mentally so I am putting it back.

Moldavite is very unique in its healing in that it shows you what’s wrong, rather than getting rid of it. It brings submerged problems to the surface allowing you to connect with them and in time turn the negativity of the issue into positive in your life. Moldavite should be placed on forehead, throat, crown or just held.

 

 

Moldavite Part 2

I was thinking it has been over two years since I wrote my piece about Moldavite and a lot has happened since then. There is so much Moldavite brings into my life I feel I need to mention it again in more detail.

I have come to realise that I have become so used to Moldavite being in my life, I’m now taking too much for granted. Every day I wear my pendant of Moldavite around my neck, never taking it off even when going to sleep. Only occasionally do I take my Moldavite off to give cleanse it in the moonlight and as the moon is replaced by the sun I leave it there to recharge in the sun’s energy as well. As the Moldavite is recharging I replace it for a day with a much gentler crystal like Larimar and enjoy the calmer effect it has on me, in a way I find this cleanses me also. Moldavite has become a very close friend to me as we go about our day to day life together. Every day brings us closer and closer together.

My Moldavite collection has grown over the past couple of years and has been helped by me finding a source direct from Czechoslovakia called Mark. We came in contact over a year ago and drop each other an e-mail to catch up in this hectic world. Mark has helped me amass a separate collection of Moldavite for an idea I have in mind which will be another year in the making as I want to get it just right and will keep you informed with the progress. It involves using a kilogram of Moldavite so you can imagine with that amount of Moldavite being used the energies given off need careful consideration. ( If you want wonderful moldavite straight from the source look Mark up on ebay, he has just started selling on it under the name greenstone2009. Mark goes out hunting the moldavite himself spending hours looking for moldavite as it gets more and more rare. ) I keep this Moldavite in a carved wooden box with holes in the top (I know this may sound slightly strange but I don’t want the Moldavite to feel trapped) to allow the energies to flow around the Moldavite. Once when I opened up this box I was with Sarah and as she passed her hand over the Moldavite she mentioned to me the energies from the Moldavite felt icy cold. I tried this myself and as I felt this icy energy flow up my hand I was drawn into the Moldavite and allowed this flow to continue through my body. As I did I felt instantly calm as I lost myself in the moment, losing time and felt myself drifting somewhere else. I pulled myself gently back as I knew if I continued I would forget Sarah was there and go off some place with the Moldavite. I promised myself I would do this again and allow the Moldavite to take me where it wanted and show me what it wanted to show me. As I closed the box I felt a part of me close with the box and knew I would be opening it up again very soon. Every time I open my box of Moldavite I completely lose myself to a place where time has no meaning. As I hold each different piece of Moldavite in my hand I realise that each one is so individual just like us. I often think where did it come from? Why did it come to us?

Sarah and I went on an introduction to Shamanism workshop presented by Keith ‘Shadow Hawk’ Adams and Jane ‘Crying Raven Wolf’. Both lovely people. One of the parts of this day was taking items personal to you to place in your sacred space. This day was a wonderful day for me as I found that I was no longer looking for answers and a different path to follow. I had already found my own and could enjoy this day to its full. I could take what I learnt from this day and incorporate it into my life and the path I was already on. I learnt a lot about different people’s feelings towards Moldavite that day and my own. I took my box filled with the kilogram of Moldavite to place it in my sacred space. I created this space at the end of the day to meet with my animal guide (I was pleased to meet my bear again). As we met the different people at the beginning of the day we both noticed some were wearing Moldavite. I too was wearing my Moldavite pendant but it was hidden under my t-shirt and I had a feeling this was important for some reason. As Sarah commented how nice the Moldavite jewellery was to the people wearing it I noticed a pattern of reactions. The first was the moment the Moldavite was mentioned a hand would reach to it and caress it during the conversation. The second point I noticed and I hear this often is that at first they were scared of Moldavite and had only now got used to wearing it. They would mention that in the early days they would only work with a small piece of Moldavite as the effects of the Moldavite on them were intense. Only now did they feel confident to work and wear Moldavite on a more regular basis and as they talked about it their face would soften and an inner self would shine out.

 I looked back at my early days working with Moldavite and how at first I had struggled to work with Moldavite but in a different way. When Mario first placed a small piece of Moldavite in the palm of my hand I felt nothing at all, then all of a sudden I felt something small at first. As I stood there holding this Moldavite I wondered what all the fuss was about as I heard stories about people bursting into tears or going light headed and I stood there feeling something but not enough to notice. I gave this piece of Moldavite back to Mario and walked to the cabinet in Global Tribe that housed the Moldavite. First I looked through the glass of the cabinet at the Moldavite to see which pieces I was drawn to then opened the cabinet door. In turn I picked up each piece I was drawn to, putting one back, trying another before going back to one I had previously held. Finally I decided on the piece of Moldavite I would take home with me to work with. I soon began to feel things that previously in the shop I hadn’t felt and fell in love with Moldavite. Over the coming days, weeks, months then years I continued to buy different pieces of Moldavite and my collection grew. At first each piece had to be bigger as I thought the bigger the Moldavite the more powerful it had to be. I soon learned this was not the case and turned my attention to the different shapes the Moldavite came in or the deeper greens or in fact the lighter. How did each piece look held up to the light? Did the trapped bubbles inside some pieces of Moldavite make a difference? As time went by I felt closer and closer to Moldavite until at last I felt as one with Moldavite and could draw on its energies when I wanted.

Until standing in that hall listening to the stories and effects Moldavite was having in their lives I didn’t know what Moldavite was about and realised I had totally misunderstood it. It wasn’t the Moldavite people were scared about it, it was what the Moldavite was showing them about themselves they were scared of. As they came to terms with what they were realising, the acceptance of Moldavite was actually acceptance of themselves. The inward glow escaping from them as they talked about Moldavite was their true selves letting down the barriers to the world and letting the beauty within shine through. I saw myself within these strangers and smiled to myself as I knew in time they would find their answers as I had found mine. I realised that in life the only race you have to win is the race with yourself. There is no rush as the only person you can beat is yourself. There is no point to that, you may as well slow down and enjoy it. I never mentioned to anyone I had so much Moldavite on my person as this was my personal journey with Moldavite as each person’s Moldavite was to them. I remember testing out carrying the kilogram of Moldavite around Leeds to see what the effect on me would have. As I entered Global Tribe I saw Annaly and Sandra behind the counter and smiled as they came and gave me a hug. They were all excited about holding the Moldavite and were used to its energies. I put it away and walked around the shop very light headed and feeling high, very happy in myself. A guy I had never met was introduced to me as he was just beginning the journey into meditation. We got talking and after a while said he had heard a lot about this guy called Moldavitedan and that it was nice to put a face to the name. We got talking about Moldavite and he asked me what I planned to do with my collection of Moldavite so I got out my Moldavite and asked if he wanted to have a hold of it. I was surprised as he backed away scared of so much of this crystal and I put it away again. This is why I don’t want to rush my ideas with Moldavite as not everyone feels the same way I do about it as we are all so individual which I love and now understand.

I would really like to hear from people about their experiences with Moldavite, how you use it and anything you care to share. I’m studying crystals to hopefully use them in healing and want to specialize in using Moldavite as the healing crystals with other crystals there to support. Everybody has a different experience with Moldavite and I feel it gives people a wonderful insight into the deeper inner parts of you. It breaks down the walls we surround ourselves with enabling you to truly be you. Hearing from other people about their love of Moldavite or indeed another crystal they feel close to will enable us to break away from the crystal text books and use our own findings. In this way we know what we are sharing is from the heart.
